London Eye architects to design new Cambridge Mosque
Award-winning architects Marks Barfield, working in association with Professor Keith Critchlow, have been appointed by the Muslim Academic Trust to design the new Cambridge mosque. Marks Barfield are internationally-renowned for striking projects such as the London Eye and the Kew Treetop Walkway.

The architectural competition to choose a suitable design for the site is well under way. Four finalists have been shortlisted, and will present their vision for the new mosque late in June, to a specially-chosen jury, which includes representatives from the Muslim Academic Trust, the Cambridge Muslim Welfare Society, the University of Cambridge Department of Architecture, and the East Mill Road Action Group (EMRAG). Cambridge Mosque is Moving!

The Mosque at Mawson Road is planning to move to the site at 309-313 Mill Road, formerly a warehouse operated by Robert Sayle. The purchase of the site for the new Cambridge Mosque was completed on Monday, the 21st of April, 2008 - Alhamdulillah! The warehouse will be demolished and a landmark development will take its place.
